Most states have rules banning electioneering activities within a certain distance of polling places, and these rules are generally construed as disallowing t-shirts and other clothing that present a political stance. Banned paraphernalia have included Obama 2008 t-shirts and Gadsden flag buttons. And in 2004, the presence of a ballot question on public funding of a new Dallas Cowboys stadium led an Arlington, TX election administrator to ban anything associated with the team.
